Courts Holding Pickens County Dockets
Pickens County is in Alabama's 24th Judicial Circuit with Fayette and Lamar counties. The Circuit Clerk serves as the local records officer for Circuit and District Court case files at the courthouse in Carrollton. Pickens Docket Versus Case File
A Pickens County docket is best for sequence, status, and settings. The full record is needed to read the exact claim, motion, evidence filed as an exhibit, signed order, decree, or sentencing paper. Read Pickens County Court Dockets
Begin at the oldest entry and move forward. In a civil case, a complaint is followed by service, an answer or default request, motions, settings, and judgment. Pickens District Civil says a defendant has 14 days to answer after service. In small claims, the record may add a counterclaim, informal hearing, default affidavit, notice of appeal, garnishment, execution, or certificate of judgment. A service line is not a ruling, and a setting is not proof that the hearing occurred.
Criminal dockets can show a served warrant or complaint, charge, bond, arraignment, plea, motion, ruling, trial event, disposition, sentence, restitution, fine, costs, probation, and appeal. “Pending” means the case has not reached a final result. “Dismissed” is not a conviction. “Disposed” says the court completed the matter but should be read with the disposition entry to learn how.
Traffic dockets may show citation data, plea, payment, proof of insurance, defensive-driving action, failure to appear, warrant, or license-suspension consequence. Domestic relations dockets may include divorce complaints, income statements, support forms, withholding orders, contempt motions, and a final decree. The docket label gives only a short description, so request the actual order when its exact terms matter.

Appealed and Federal Pickens Dockets
A District Court appeal can create activity in Circuit Court, so the lower docket and later Circuit Court file may both matter.
